Nature of Business
Mycom North America is a Time Expense Sheet Management System.
Issues Faced
We have to develop a Time Management application for Mycom that has to be used to keep track of employees and their working schedules and to keep track of project development stages. The basic motivation of the application is to provide a place where the Engineers and the Project manager can do there time management. Application is initiated with an intention of providing utmost user friendliness to the user/administrator to manage the site respectively. The required application has to be completely database/admin controlled.
Remedies
This Application is divided into two parts: Web Application and Desktop Base Application.
Web Application was developed using Microsoft Technology and ASP in business layer and SQL SERVER in the Data Layer.
Desktop Base Application was developed using .NET technology using the Three Tier Architecture. It had Windows Forms in the presentation layer, Business logic in VB.NET in the business layer and SQL SERVER in the Data Layer.
The complete solution comprised of the following:
- ASP.NET 2003
- C# 2003
- VB Script
- JAVASCRIPT
- SQL Server 2000
To maintain the proper development and a complete track of project right from analysis to deployment we are exploiting the proper usage of following modeling tools:
Benefits
In the Web Based Application Time Sheet Management was given to every employee online so that they can keep track of their Time Management and also get it approved from their superiors. The superiors were given the access to approve/reject the time sheet of their juniors.
The Desktop Application was provided to every employee so that they can keep track of their Time Management offline and then can synchronize their offline data with the online centralized data.
We created a Desktop Based Application for report generation for the administrators which is used to keep track of the employees and their working schedule. This was developed using Crystal reports and SQL Server 2000.
